Christmas Party

Hey there! Merry Christmas! I started this poem before Christmas 2024 but only finished it in January 2025. Intended to capture and celebrate the festive spirit of Christmas and the holiday season.

Christmas Party

The mood is festive with the house all set
Mom and Dad are ready and make a fine duet
Dressed in their uglies and wearing a smile
They clearly express a unique Christmas style

A player piano being played by Christmas elves
While carolers sing and hum to themselves
They’re getting warmed up for the festive crowd
A growing buzz before it gets truly loud

Mistletoe and garland throughout the rooms
Poinsettias showing their bright red blooms
Stockings hang on the mantle o’er the fireplace
Christmas cards invite all to embrace

The giant spruce tree is lit and all aglow
Standing tall and proud o’er glistening snow
A Christmas angel sits atop, overseeing all
Decorations are splendid and do us enthral

The table is set with lots of food and wine
Guests clearly welcome to both drink and dine
Laughter and smiles spread joy through the air
With Christmas spirit for all to warmly share

In my candy cane pyjamas, I stroll through the house
Hugging my teddy bear and being quiet as a mouse
Part of the décor, through the crowd I do wend
And then up the stairway, I do ascend

I wave to the elf who has just spotted me
I am laughing so hard, I now have to pee
With hopes that Santa does not stay away
Wishing everyone a bright Christmas day.
